I'm new to the list so bear with me if this has been asked. I've tried to search the archives but something is wrong with the search engine. I've got a '93 pickup with a v6. Bought it with a bad engine (head gaskets) the head gasket recall had been done but the new ones went (personally think the dealer lied about doing it but that's another post) Anyway, rebuilt the motor and everything seems to be going well except the timing. I can't seem to get it right. Main problem now is when I put the jumper, from Te1 to E1, on the rpm's do not drop and the timing doesn't change at all. I read that this means the TPS is out of adjustment so I adjusted that last night and still no change. I'm thinking this has to be something simple, I just can't track it down. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

BTW: I've installed new plugs(gapped correctly), rotor, and cap (both OEM).
