Hi all,

I'm new on this forum, so please be kind!

Noticed that my partners 09 aygo rear brake lights are both out today. All other lights work, including the brake light strip above the rear window. So assumed that both bulbs had gone by chance. Went to local Halfords and was advised that I needed bulb 380 12V 21/5W.

Got home and replaced one with the new bulb, and tested. New bulb made no difference and the brake light remained un illuminated.

Had a look in her handbook to see if I could locate a particular fuse that May have blown. The book took me to page 299, and seemed to suggest that position 20 was the likely slot. Confusingly the guide also seems to suggest that this one fuse works for; stop lights, high mounted stop light, anti lock brake system and multi mode Manuel transmission.

As all other electrical aspects of the car seem to be in working order, can I assume that the issue is more than a blown fuse?

Apologies if this sounds like a daft question but I am not a car guy!

Please advise!

Thanks in advance

Jon

Would that be expensive to rectify?

It depends on the problem, ask for an estimate first...

Thanks, wish me luck!

Aygo mechanics are relatively simple so it shouldn't be too scary..

What is strange is the high level works but the other don't and yet they are on the same circuit...

I have exactly the same problem, just discovered it today.
