E54 Connector

which is the e54 connector and has some one got a diagram of which pins are which looking for pin nos 21 22 23 and 24 to try and wire up a rear view camera on a b9004 head unit.

Have a look at this:

you should basically only need to connect pin 21 and 23 together to the RCA shield gnd signal and the pin 22 is for the RCA video signal, that's it.

also what is pin 24 ca+ for?

Hello Darrell,

it is the large and flat connector which is up right on your picture, the only one with 24 pins.

And pin 24 would probably not be of any use to you since it has +6V DC so unless you have a special camera you would most probably instead power the camera with +12V DC directly from the backup light on the back, right?

thanks tent its a while since i last had the unit out i ended up buying a reverse mirror that clips over original mirror but have always wanted it to go through the head unit

hi tent have wired the camera as advised but when i put car into reverse i just get a blank screen saying check surroundings for safety any idea what im doing wrong i know the camera works as i reconnect it to the mirror monitor and i get a picture?????

that's rather strange indeed.. maybe some inverted cabling? or maybe the rca cable is so long it should be better shielded?

could it be your camera is ntsc and not pal?

i have no idea how to check if its ntsc or pal.

works fine with the mirror monitor.

camera is like this one so maybe its pal i may have the box somewhere will look tomorrow.

also just re -read an old write up on the b9004 says you can use pal or ntsc and both work ?
