2004 4.2 5-Door Check Strap

Hi Guys

My wife's front r/h (UK driver's) door was snatched out her grip the other day by the high winds and was forced against the check strap.

She heard a 'crack' sound but fortunately no contact was made between door and wing.

This door is still restrained by the check strap but now opens to a wider angle than the l/h door so something has been strained.

The strap now protrudes further from the open door than the undamaged side so something on the mechanism within the door has changed.

Before I source a new or replacement part is there anything that can be dove to adjust or re-set the strap?

Advice would be appreciated

Hi Steve think you ought strip the door card off and suss it out before ordering parts as the motor will still be useable stripped down.
