Cant Unlock Drivers Door

hi there every1,

thanks for the water leak help, have another little issue i would like to have sorted on my otherwise perfect cari as ive named her lol, the central locking has gone a bit mad, you can lock it from the drivers side, but not unlock it, the key wont turn far enough, and the only way i can unlock it is to open the door from inside by pulling handle and sliding the unlock lever just above, is a tad annoying, and also when i start her and shut the door, the doors try to lock themselves, really scratching my head with it, any help would be great , thanks!!!!

i would think take the door card for a start and see whats happening with the pieces inside - or else the door lock could be on the way out - maybe some corrosion? i have a similar problem on my carina e - all doors lock with the central locking except one rear door - needs to be locked manually from inside

My brother in law had the same problem, turned out to be a spring in the door linkage, it's the bit halfway down the door ( when it's open ) the spring is part of the linkage inside.
