is the 140 sohc or doch?

can i convert the 140-190. is it easy?? can it still look like a 140bhp block???

please can some one help me out. need more speed.

as far as im aware its to do mostly with the ecu even though there are a few minor differences, i think its mostly down to the valve timing. maybe someone with a more knowledge might be able to help, there are mods out there now for your 140vvti induction kits exhausts (De-Cat) and if youve got 3k spare a supercharger.

Yeah, I have a 140 but from my research the 190 is also a 1.8 but has the lift cam operation. However, correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the 140 also a DOHC? I presume there is no way to get a 190 conversion done on it? I find the 140 fast, but wouldn't mind some more power.

ermmm Different bore and stroke, i belive the heads different, so i think you can expect it to be expensive, better off doing an engine swap.

The 140 engine (1ZZ FE) has variable valve timming and the 190 engine (1ZZ GE I think?) has variable valve timming and variable valve Lift which at 6000 rpm oil pressure locks a wedge in on the cam and engauges a larger cam (on the inlet side only). I think the bottom ends are more or less the same, the heads are compleatly differnt best off tuening your 140 or selling it and getting a 190.

How about swapping the engine out for a proper mans block like a 3SGTE :D

Easy 300bhp, none of this wussy variable valve timing rubbish. Just good old fashioned forced induction! :D

I think it comes down to the unofficial TOC motto:

'If in doubt, swap it out'
