Does the spoiler on the YTS serve any other purpose apart from looking nice?!

Is there any sort of down force or wind deflection of any kind?

Just thought I’d ask

Lets Face it. most spoilers are a waste of time...all they do is cause Drag...espcially on the yaris, as it creates an even larger vacume at the back of the car...hence all the cack on the road gets uplled back on to it.

for it to be efficient...you'd need either a light car...and very high top speeds. most road going cars...are neither.

So yeah...show!

Did you know...that an F! car produces anough down force, that it could drive upside down in a tunnel...again thoiugh would need to be going flat out.

Aerodynamics only really make a big difference a very high speeds, hence why most cars are limited to 155mph!

positive downforce occurs at 66mph in flat wind condtions (differs with the wind blowing)

the wing must also be shaped to all 22 degree aerofoil principles to gain the correct airflow and therefore gain the correct downforce

and thats how its done.....

also only two road going production cars have actual downforce wings

the late Evos and the Escort Cosworth (yes the wailtail did have another purpose!)
