Timing Issue, I Think

I have a 2000 celica and just recently the engine started ticking and it started shutting off on me when driving, but only when at low rpms. Please help its getting worse. Do I have slack in my chain or belt, is it my throttle sensor, or what? Its a vvti 16 valve 1zz engine.
