Is the spec of the amp RMS or is that peak, its better to over power th sub than to under power it. Cos then ur sound is not distorting due to amp cliping when its saturated fully

im not even going to bother to answer that. Come one man, think about it. Ok, heres a hint, Amp = 300 Sub = 350:- 300-350 = -50. Ull most likely just get static.

Brezzer, that sounds about right to me. :)

There's two ways to look at it:

1) If your amp is way more powerful than the sub then you are not using a chunk of the power and if you do the sub will fry.

2) If your amp is way under-powered then you will drive it too hard to get the sub to move some decent air and it will distort the signal, again frying the sub (and probably the amp as well!).

I would pretty much match the amp and sub RMS figures perhaps making the amp slightly more powerful than the sub.

Just my thoughts...

like i said mate

match the RMS and be ideally within 10% if you cant match it perfectly
