So the cover on the little storage compartment beside the handbrake won't stay closed. It was working last week but was a bit fiddly but now it won't work at all.

can this be fixed? Or can a new catch be got from Toyota? Is this a common problem?

mine does not close too. I have seen quite alot of avensis cars for sale where they are open,

you can replace the coin tray, I think it was around £15 from Toyota when I last priced it.

part number 55630-05010.

easy to remove.

this video and exvecs guide will help you to get to the cointray/storage tray. tools needed: Philips screwdriver

So I was onto my local dealer who have told me that part number is only for the divider that fits into the tray. They reckon that to fix this problem I have to buy the whole unit which comes to >€400 :(

Help?

I was in Toyota today and yes your right you have to buy the whole unit. even though it is only held in with 4 screws. I will just live with mine.
