Leather Steering Wheel 2010 Prius?

I have a 2010 Prius 1.8 Series 3 and want to change the steering wheel for a leather one.

According to my local dealer there is no compatible leather steering wheel from Toyota.

Has anyone found a solution to this?

Perhaps eBay may be able to help, there's always someone selling stuff from Japan (which tends to have loads more original Toyota Prius accessories)

I didn't really want to resort to a stitch on cover.

I assume the problem with trying to fit another Prius model, leather steering wheel, is that the connectors for the airbag or the instrumentation are different?

I completely agree that a cheap stitch-on cover would be both naff and potentially unsafe, but there are definitely people out there who can do a good job. I remember that about 5 years ago when I was looking at a E-class coupe (which I never bought) at Mercedes-Benz world, I lamented that the saloon could be had with a leather dashboard, while the sportier car had a dull plastic one. I was told that they knew of a good company which could cover it without a problem - for a price! If there are people who are good enough to do that to a massive dashboard on a new luxury car, I'm sure that they could do what you want with your steering wheel. Compared with the hassle and expense of buying a whole new wheel and swapping it, praying that the wiring is compatible etc, the price might be well worth it. You could also specify exactly what you want done.

So, I'd do a bit of asking around at luxury car dealers, or perhaps even better a reputable classic car dealer and I'm sure they could find someone up to the job.

These part numbers are for a RHD European Pre facelift MK3 Prius, there are two colour options one for the standard Grey interior ( black leather ) and one for the optional beige/grey light interior option ( mist grey )

Thanks for the part nos. - Horrendous prices! Looks as though they include the airbag and all the controls as a package!

Not sure if/how my dealer would cope with this from eBay?
