Bluetooth Phone Sound Issue

Hello all,

I bought my YarBrid the day the new 14 plates came out! (i managed to wait an extra 3 days just so i could have the 14 plates! - very impress with my self control!)

I absolutely love the car... it feels like a little go-kart and the feul economy is fantastic.

One problem i am getting, and as a business owner who is often of the road and on the phone (handsfree of course!) is that the sound quality of the phonecall has all of a sudden become really poor. I use my phone to play music via the bluetooth and the sound quality is absolutely fine. It is only on phone calls where the crackling and dropping in and out happens. It is nothing to do with my phone signal as I have done lots of tests in lots of different areas with varying levels of signal, and for the last few weeks it has been working fine.

I have an iPhone 4s (it is usually plugged into the usb port to keep it charged)

I have tried deleting the connection on the Touch&Go system

I have tried resetting the phone

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

The only thing I can think of is that while you can't change the volume of the 'line out' on an iPhone when connected via USB, you can change the volume of the bluetooth stream - just use the volume buttons when on a bluetooth call.

It might be worth playing with different combinations of phone and car volume in case one is set too loud and clipping etc.

Hi David,

Thanks for the advice, i tried giving the various volume combinations a go, but it didnt work. i then took a call with the phone in my pocket and it worked perfectly! I did some more testing and i found that the reason for the sound distortion was the placement of the phone!

Bit of a bummer but i have found that if you place the phone near the central unit (i had mine in the cup holders by the gear stick) you get the sound distortion. I have now purchased a phone holder and have my phone on the right hand side next to the steering wheel and i get no noise distortion at all!

Bizzare!

Hi,

Borrow your thread..

Have same issue. Poor Bt Call quality with some phones if unit is near the center.

I had no problems with Samsung Note 4 for years. But now with Honor 8, Moto G4 Plus and Lenovo P2 same problem.

First i thought it was the car so i changed the phone since it worked fine with my N4, but now i know the damn reason.
