Thinking Of Buying The Trend Hybrid

I have had the IQ for about 18 months or so and it has been very nice. I have rarely found the 1L engine lacking. Just occasionally uphill in lane 3 on the motorway trying to pass a BMW it struggles :)

It's a manual though and as I share my car with my 80 year old father, an Automatic would be better for him.

The Yaris Trend Hybrid seems to tick all the boxes, it has all the nice bits that the IQ has (auto mirror, auto headlights, auto wipers, keyless entry) and a few others.

Most of the time it will be used for short urban trips, but at the weekends, especially now as the days are getting warmer, longer motorway journeys will be likely.

There isn't much useful information out there regarding the Yaris Hybrid at motorway speeds. The only bits I have seen say it's not great.

I guess the Hybrid is optimised for city driving but how is it at a constant 65mph for a couple of hundred miles?

I value the opinions of real drivers here over any "reviews" on youtube.

Also does the Pearl while look nice? Does it show the dirt quickly?

Oh Well

Had a test drive this morning and it all went well. I was very surprised at how quiet it was at 70mph.

I pick it up next Saturday :-o

Went for the Fire Red in the end.

I love the Touch and Go. I couldn't stop playing with it.

Hope you are very happy with your new hybrid :D

We were also worried about motorway performance, but were reassured by a test drive on one. Certainly not the fastest/most powerful car out there, but it copes just fine.

Enjoy

I had one for a while (company cars-get swapped around a lot) and averaged 60 MPG out of it over mixed A roads and dual carriageway. Nice car, not the fastest but it's not built for that purpose eh?

Picked it up this morning at 7AM!

So far I am loving it.

I love the blue glowing dash.

One question though, is this in the glovebox?

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on you choice of car. I have a Hybrid Yaris T4 as in Burning Red. I think the colur look great in the sunshine.

One tip to new Yaris HSD owners is make sure that the boot/hatch is closed before driving. For some reason you can reverse the car but not drive it foward. Not good to find out when you reverse you car out of a drive into a road.

Enjoy.

Enjoy the car the colour looks great. We've had ours a month now and had first drive motorway drive on Friday and like others found that there was no problem with motorway and busy dual carriageway driving.
