Whining At Low Speeds

Quick question, is it normal to hear a bit of transmission whine at low speeds (i.e in second gear usually) on a 2008 petrol rav? I've had some cars with this sort of whine, its not bad and the car is very low mileage (< 20k) so I'm just curious to know if its normal?
