1998 Rav 4 Coil Plug.

Hi, I want to change the spark plug but the spark plug lead does not come out of the hole in the cylinder head enough to allow access for a plug spanner.

I tried to remove the coil plug end but broke the little loop on the plug when levering it out with a screwdriver,I thought it would move out and release the plug.

Any advice please?

The HT lead is clipped in a couple of places - simply unclip, so you end up with sufficient slack to fully withdraw the HT connector.

Thank you ginorthall, are the clips on the sides and do you lever them out?

PS. I need to release the plug onto the coil as the leads do not have enough slack to allow spark plug removal.

Panic over, just gained enough on a lead to remove it.

I didn't think that releasing it from the cable clips would give enough slack, it was still tight bus managed it.

Thanks for the tip ginorthall.
