WOW indeed, but a bit pricey for me I'm afraid.

Just to put it into perspective.......for the price of the Merc you could get a Sera for the flashy doors.....a tricked up Skyline for the horses, Insurance for both of them and a house with a double garage!

Next week should be interesting though, when they present their £100 cars. Finally, something on Top Gear I can afford. :D

You may get the doors on a Sera, but that sound! I doubt that even a clapped out Nova could reproduce that!

TBH the SLR is a looker but by far the BEST looker compared to some. and what is that airbrake all about! that was just plain daft!

i managed to miss the first 20mins and when it came to Paul McKenna hypnotising whats-his-face, i want to know what Alfa Romeo that was?? (the red one) looked beautiful with the flared arches and i can recall it had 370bhp! :o :drool::drool::drool:

will be very interesting with the one-ton-nails nest week!

Apparently the newer Porches have a similar ceramic braking system that is proving to be a BIG problem.

Yeah the standard 147 GTA has a 3.2L 250bhp engine, but Clarkson was on about the 3.7L one from Autodelta which has a bored 3.2L V6 and a top speed of 175mph!!!

well if u race & put em under heavy use then the temps of the discs will increase and cause em to glow. but even hard street driving wont cause this. think temps need to be around 800°C !

In the expensive McLaren F1 book, they admit to stealing the door design from the Sera. They purchased one and reverse engineered it. The same principles can be seen on the McMerc.

Still 3 secs faster round their track than a Gallardo - and its an automatic!
