I have a coaster motor home 1988 with 4litre turbo diesel automatic with rear airbag suspension and two fuel tanks. Can anyone telle how the tanks work as I have ran out of fuel with the gauge still telling me had quarter tank. Is it supposed to draw fr the main tank first then the all tank as a back up. Mine varies and draws fuel from front tank first then back tank first. How do they work? I have no switch to change tanks. Hope to find an answer as a !Removed! not knowing which tank has ran out.

As far as I'm aware the Coaster has never been officially imported into the UK, although the chassis is used by Caetano for the Optimo mini-bus.

I have worked in the job for 39 years and NEVER seen a Coaster converted to a motor home. Have dealt with hundreds of the Caetano coaches. Finding information about it will be quite tricky I think. Most likely the tanks are a conversion, is there anything to suggest who might have converted it? It would be pretty easy to know which tank was empty. I would imagine there is some sort of dual pump arrangement. If you are not confident in finding how it works, why not take it to sa commercial vehicle specialist? They would have the knowledge gained in the HGV market where it is common to run two tanks

My question would be is there a balance pipe between the tanks and if so does it have a tap on it?

Does it have one or two filler caps?
