12V/120W Socket Cover

Hi all, on the 4.2 there is a spring loaded plastic door that covers the 12v socket in the center console...is there an easy way to remove this door without damaging it so that it can be put back into place in the future?

The reason I ask is that I have a Steel-mate TP-70 DIY Tyre Pressure Monitoring System on the way and this is were I would like to place the digital receiver display!

Regards, Steve

Usually the frame of the door just slides down the outer tube and is held in place when the socket is fixed in position. Probably a case of removing the socket and sliding off the door before refitting the socket. Alternatively you could use a socket extension to a convenient point.
