Hi all,

I have a 1.3 Corolla GL - And My radiator seems to be leaking.

Any ideas on how to fix it or would i have to buy a new radiator and how much would it cost around????

I noticed it the other day when smoke or steam was coming out the front.

Yesterday it looked like the engine was on fire.

I lifted up the bonnet and the steam pouring out of the radiator was unbelievable.

Anyone can help me??

Thanks In Advance

Dan

Dan mate is it a big hole? Is the radiator rusty etc.... It can be temporarily fixed by the radiator fixing solutuion like RadWeld from Halfords.

If the hole is too big and the radiator is not too rusty, u could try to get overhauled by a radiator repair specialist. I had a rusty radiator on my Mitsubishi Colt, and it cost about £100 quid to fix it, I woldn't have liked forking out £200 for a new one! :arrgg-matey:

When the radiator was overhauled, it looked like brand new

Another cheaper option is to get a radiator from a breakers yard or search for it on eBay - they are being sold there, but very often!

A radiator from a breakers yard should cost u about £30...

Hope thet helps

Dan,

I had to get a new rad for my GTI in 2000. I didn't bother getting it recon'd. Got a new one for £95 + VAT.

Try www.fensport.com they might had a second hand one (although i'm not sure if the GTI one is different or not from the GL. They will know though)!!
