Central Locking Parts

Sorry if this has already been covered.

Had my car serviced and it appears that I need to get a central locking attenuator( I think this is what they called it ) for the drivers side. Mr T has quoted an eye watering amount and as such I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to a more cost effective solution.

I can open the rear doors remotely but not the drivers door ( have to use the key to open) and when I lock the car I hold the drivers handle and can then lock with the remote .

Has anyone got any ideas?

Its a D4D 2.2 - and I have to say despite all the problems I've read about them on this forum, mine has had no problems , passes the MOT with flying colours and apart from wear and tear parts, this is the first "problem " I've had with the car.

They're on eBay for around £30 as salvage parts.
