Engine Lag On Accelleration

On starting my colorado I find their is a lag on the accelleration when setting off.

On standing start when revving, the engine takes a 2 second delay before responding.

What are the likely fixes

A faulty air flow meter can cause this sort of throttle hesitation, as can a blocked fuel/ air filters.
