My Toyota Prius 2012 language is in Japanese. How can it be displayed in English? Thanks

Sad news for you Anuka, the base language effectively cannot be changed once set. The car is programmed at the factory at the time of manufacture for the target market, and once set, cannot be easily changed. And Toyota certainly will not change it. It is the price you pay for a (presumably) cheaper car than the one built for the Sri Lankan Market.

Gen 3 Touch & go you can change the language.

Press the Setup button, choose "General", which is the left top selection if it's in Japanese, on the next screen select "Language" which is the top selection, on the next screen select "English", second one down on mine.

Whoops! Should have read the title correctly. What I posted above is true for the Gen II.

I'm glad the Gen III had been updated to allow this change.

The only problem is, if it's in Japanese the menu selections may be difficult to find. Let's hope they are in the same positions as the English (UK) version.

I explored the menu, but I couldn't find "English" anywhere :(

Any button got 英語 on it ?

According to Google translate English to Japanese:

Setup = セットアップ (or set up as two separate words = セットアップする)

General = 一般

Language = 言語

English = 英語

Does that help ?
