I've just bought an imported Celica VVTL I (190) and can't work out wether it is alarmed or if it has an imobiliser...Or if it has either..

Does anyone know how I might be able to find out???

It was munufactured in 2000...

As far as i know every imported car is alarm/immobilier-less.

I heard that in japan they have little or no car theift so they dont have them. Makes sence, my ST205 never came with anything in the way of security.

I've just rang Toyota up and it's going to cost £400 to have an alarm/imobiliser fitted.....

Does that sound a litte steep??

Im not sure how good the Toyota systems are, there are a lot of Supra owners out there that have upgraded the standard UK alarm system to a Clifford Cat 1.

A 3rd party alarm system would most likely be better than a Toyota system and cheaper.

But on the flip side a proper Toyota system will look more original.
