My aygo MMT has gone into the dealers for a new clutch fitting, Quoted £770 which I thought was a lot but no other garage would touch it.

Once the car was stripped down Toyota said there was no clutches available till 11th April, now they are saying soonest is 7th MAY A full month !!

They will not provide a loan car or give a discount.

The car is 58 reg 46000 miles with full Toyota service history

The dealer is not willing to fit a non Toyota part which I can get from most places

Does anyone know if its the same clutch kit as the manual model ??

Thanks for any info

It is the same bigger clutch but the MMT needs resetting and reprogramming and only the dealer can do it for you. Sadly you have no choice here.

The Aygo Manual & MMT DO NOT share the same clutch

Manual:

Cover 31210-0H030

Disc 31250-0H030

Bearing 31230-0H010 type A

31230-52040 type B

MMT:

Cover set 31250-79055 ( Disc and cover as a matched set )

Bearing as per manual.

If the part has gone a back order ask your dealer to Contact Toyota customer relations on your behalf and request a hire car for the duration of the delay, if you dealer is less than forthcoming contact Customer relations on 01737 367600 or customer.relations@tgb.toyota,co.uk and request a hire car and point out the dealers lack of assistance.

If you really want, point out that as the dealer cannot complete your car in the time scale agreed they are in breech of contract and that you want the car back in the condition it was presented at no cost to yourself and take the car elsewhere, this may just prompt the dealer to find a car for you use whilst the parts are delayed. Try the Customer relations path first though as the above is the last resort.
