Have a 1993 Corolla 1.8L. It ran fine no problems. Then all of a sudden it dies immediately after I start it? If I give it gas It will run. But it will not idle on its own.

Would this be a fuel problem?

First thing that comes to mind is the fuel filter. A petrol engined corolla needs this changed every 25,000 - 30,000 miles.

if the car died suddenly....................then the problem for sure is with the silencer........... just get it changed............. its choked..........

As ae111sr said - change the fuel filter and then check for any diagnostic codes stored in the ECU - might narrow it down a bit
