Insurance Change On Hilux

For years i owned a hilux and it was covered by normal car insurance but after a few years with normal cars...it changed...now covered as a van with van insurance. Problem is that my many years of no claims are unusable on van insurance and I have to start all over again...doubling my insurance price...not happy...insured now but any tips to get around this would be appreciated..dave
