Highlander Rear Seat

I have been anticipating the arrival of the hybrid Highlander next year. I recently went to the dealer and tested the ability of the current model's rear seats to fold flat. Flat they were not! There was still a 20 degree pitch up toward the front seats. If there was any way to get them completely flat my dumb-as-a-stump salesman didn't know how. Is it possible that the seats flatten with age as they are continually squashed in that position? It would be rare that I would ever have the seats in erect position. Thanks in advance.

Highlander made me think there could be only one !
