Lowering Springs

Seems right but a bit cheap indeed. There is no certificate so probably won't pass MOT?

Mot is not my main concern because in my country they won't check for the certification of the springs, but I am a bit more worried that they can cause damage to the chassis because I think that the factory shocks are not able to whitstand 40mm lowering springs

The website isn't clear, are the springs for the Auris with torsion beam rear suspension or the double wishbone independent rear setup? (2.2 D-CAT version)

These FK springs are also sold eslewhere, I've seen them on other websites. 40 is not that bad it will take it, H&R is 35 and works great for everybody. Just the working area is not optimal and that is why the dampers will wear faster, but not noticeably. If you are sure they will fit and they are good I would suggest to buy!

ive got -35mm h&r springs on my hybrid which.is 5mm lower then standard model so technically 40mm down. Obviously the ride is more bouncy then with uprated shocks, but its ok. I wouldn't advise doing it on old worn shocks to start with, it would wear them out in no time

For how long do the shocks last usually BTW? I've heard something about 70-80K kilometers... Is that correct?

would vary with driving style and type of driving, but i would say 60-80k miles before they are passed there best, mimes done 20k and i reckon mine will do about 20k more especially now lowered

Mine's are on 60k & doing fine on Eibach Pro-kit springs, probably because they don't lower the SR much further than the standard Motorsport springs (also made by Eibach). They're just a bit stiffer to reduce cornering roll.

Cheers guys, mine have only done 50k (miles), but it's time for them to go I guess... :) They would've lasted, well, probably for not very long then, but for now they're still fine.

I opted for the 30mm all round Lowtec lowering springs since I have a limited availability in my country because if I would have bought them myself over the internet the shipping cost would have been more than the springs themselves and therefore not worth the money for an extra 5mm or 1cm drop . I'm happy how it turned out since it's a daily car so it doesn't need to be touching the ground :P What do you think ??
