Seo Shocks - Toyota Vs Aftermarket

hi guys,

cos of my new job, i have been driving my seo longer and further everyday

but lately i found some unusual sway action in the rear of the car when i am past 80km/h... and the prob was getting worse so i took it to see Pedders (suspension specialist in Aust)... and 40min later they told me my rear shocks were in desparate need of replacement...

like most of you who cherish your seos (i dont even like rain on mine :P)

i want to have this prob fixed asap -

i called a few places and here are the qoutes i got

toyota dealer - 80 for each shock (rear) and 270 to fit them both

pedders - 150 for each shock (their own brand) and 110 to fit both

other places like ultra tune will fit also but at 170...

i guess my question is how good are the factory shocks? performance wise

or am i better off looking for something better?? i take all recommendations and prices if avail - but only if avail in Aust as i dont want to wait for shipping...

I paid £38 easch for my rear shox and £40 for fitting both. I found out they were shot when i was getting it lowered. Mine are not Toyota ones though they work well with the lowerd PI springs.

I'm getting KYBs for when I lower mine, they're cheaper than OEM, and stiffer, so I should get a better ride out of them

KYB may well be the original equipment manufacturer, although you may get them cheaper thru KYB rather than Toyota.

Im going to get Eibach shocks, eventually.
