Taking Half A Dozen Turns To Start After Service

Had the car seviced a few days ago.

From cold it takes 5 or 6 turns to start but when i drive for a while and switch it off and on again it starts first time.

The car drives smooth and no stuttering or spluttering.

Would there be an airlock in the system preventing it starting and if so why not do this all the time.

I have a big journey coming up and wished to hell i would have left the service until after i returned or just done an oil change on its own.
