Calibration Of Touchscreen On Headunit B9030 (Auris Hybrid Tspirit 201

Hi, I have just bought this car

I am having problems with the touchscreen on the system. it is acting like the sensor is not calibrated to the graphics. you have to touch below the buttons to select them. As many of the buttons are

displayed at the very bottom of the screen. I cannot select these. Basically i cant start navigation!

Has anyone come across this on their car?

Is there a system menu that will allow recalibration of the touch screen? Can I do it, of is it a dealer visit?

TIA for any help you can provide

Phil

Hi,

Devon Aygo has offered me some help with this in reply to a DM. Seems promising. I'll let you know how it works.

Thanks for the support!

  • 3 weeks later...

I thought I would update everyone on my B9030 headunit and its touchscreen problems. To recap, I had just purchased the car and the satnav unit (B9030) was working, but very difficult to control. The touchscreen response was not aligned with the visual graphic. Devon Aygo gave me a sequence that put it into service mode, and i tried re-calibrating it. This did not really work as a fix (maybe something wrong with screen itself). The car is 4 years old, so I took it to Toyota, they investigated and ordered me a new headunit free of charge. I now have the car back and the satnav is working perfectly.

Needles to say, I am very pleased with Toyota Middlesbrough and their excellent customer service. I'm very glad I chose this car.

Hi Phil,

Recently i bought and second hand Auris with basicaly the same equip like yours manufactured in 8/2011. I had the same problem with the calibration of my b9030 but mostly when the outside temperature is +35 or -10 or less. As i said is a second hand car, and my question is if go to a local dealership they will cover the replacing item based on the 5 year warrity? or it shoud be present the first owner? Please advise based on your experience.

Best regards,

Cristi

Hello Christi - welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

The original poster was last active on the forum in May 2014 - so not sure whether you will receive a reply to your question of today.

The 5 year/100,000 mile new car warranty was introduced by Toyota GB from June 2010 - with most of Europe retaining the 3 year/100,000km new car warranty. Your profile says that you are outside the UK, and, if that is the case, you may not have the longer warranty.

Hi,

I cant add anything to the debate. I do not know what the warranty arrangement is for you. I can say that I took the car to the dealer in the last month of the warranty with an air conditioning leak - and they replaced the relevant parts free of charge. I have also had a new standard Battery fitted under warranty (not drive Battery - that is still fine).

Overall, I can still recommend Toyota and in my expereince they stand by their cars.
