Hi

Just a quick one really,

Any one ever seen this done or have it done?

http://www.tdi-plc.com/toyota_yaris.html (the turbo kit for the 1.0 litre)

Doesnt that equal the power of a standard t-sport

Was thinking of maybe getting rid on my celica and starting a little project and thought you lot would be the best to ask before i start.

Cheers

ayup mate

yes we have a couple of folk on here who have done such conversion

Yaris_WRC used to own a turbo 1.0 and a chap called lovingit is currently sorting us some pics of his little monster!

it brings the power upto approx 100bhp i think which is about 7-8bhp off the TS

Its all good, dont worry bout going off the topic.

Am just getting a bit fed up with such a huge car, may have 170 BHP but all that weight aint good.

Will be going up to japfest at the weekend so i will have a look round to see if i can find any about.

Any idea on econmy damage when the kit is installed

Cheers

i would have thought the ecomomy would suffer slightly yes! but if it only goes as bad as the TS then i suppose approx 32mpg is what you can expect

I've now seen the Greddy turbo kits for as little as $1800 - less than £1000!!!!

Why greddy thought bad. Who actually makes the turbo and anyone looked at making own rotrex system.

Why do you not seem get same ouput with supercharger because lot easier to install if making own system.

Si

Jaxx tell me about what your planning with nitrous as white celica may also be interested. How much you going to use and any mods to engine i.e. forged pistons.

Yeah nitrous is ok but im after a more costant upgrade.

Has anyone seen one of these up against a TS would be interesting to watch i can imagine.

To people who have had it done, what other modifaction are needed to run this properly as im almost tempted to put my car up for sale now.

i would do it if i was you. you will need a satnd alone ECU thought if you want it to work 100% mine didnt work right 100% of the time as i had not ECU mods. sometimes it went like a rocket other times it hesitated. up top in 5th gear you get about 110 mph. it lacks torque cus its only 998 cc
