A little advice needed.

A friend of mine from work wants to bring his 03-06 Avensis (T25) from Spain to the UK.

Does anyone know the requirements needed to make it legal on UK roads? am I right in thinking that the headlamps need to be changed? He currently has xenon lamps in so finding 2nd hand Xenons he is finding hard. As far as I am aware its pre-facelift.

Any thoughts?

As far as I'm aware any left hand drive vehicle that is going to be imported into the UK and registered in the UK, will need

• Headlight beam patterns that dip to the left side.
• A speedometer capable of reading in MPH.
• A rear fog light fitted to the centre or right side of the vehicle.

Once the above work is done (ie replacement of headlights, etc), one needs to demonstrate the car complies with UK Type Approval. For this the vehicle has to undergo an Individual Vehicle Approval test at a VOSA approved testing centre.

Might be more difficult to insure, being left hand drive. Could try TOC insurance.
