I recently had a problem on my car where the suspension was making a knocking noise and I thought the shock was knackered. After speaking to some people who have exceptional mechanical knowledge they suggested it might be a dry joint and that a good dose of WD40 on the suspension and in the spring cups top and bottom could fix it. I sprayed everything, cleaned around the ball joints and its now sorted. My car is imported so I guess because they sit around more its a possible cause. I have found this to be fairly common the more I speak to other Toyota owners. ;)
