Hi, new to the forum. Does anyone know if its possible to read faults codes on a 03 RAV4 D4D without leads and computers etc. ? ours has just come on, all appears to be well at the moment......

My understanding is you will need some sort of code reader, you can buy yourself one from eBay for less than £20.00 which will give you the codes and reset the light, well worth having one.

This is like the one I have and is excellent.

Although manufacturers weren't required to make diesels OBD2 compliant until 2004 - many manufacturers made the changes earlier. You should be able to use a simple OBD2 code reader - these are available from around £10 upwards.

disconnect the Battery for a few minutes see if it goes away could be something little
