2008 Avensis 2.0 D4D

Hi all,

I have a 2008 avensis 2.0 d4d tr with 142k mile on the clock. Engine block was replaced at 110k due to the head gasket issue.

Wondering what the towing capacity would be for this car. I looking to tow a power boat with a towing weigh t of 1.3 tonnes on a braked trailer. Its a once off tow off about 140 miles on mainly motorway roads. The car is still on the original clutch.

Is my car up to this? Or im likely to make trouble for myself?

I take it that you don't have the driver's manual?

Can't find a facelift T25 brochure to download but the original (2004) T25 2.0 D4D (114BHP) has a braked trailer towing capacity of 1300Kg

Maximum tow capacity is 1300kg braked with a maximum nose weight of 75kg.

Thats lads. Yeah afraid I dont have the manual. So im right up to the towing limit so ill be taking my time. I think I read some where that I shldnt tow in six gear that is correct?

Ill probably take a bresk half way to give the car a rest.
