I have a 94 Toyota Pickup, 22RE. A few months ago, it started getting horrible mileage...15-16 mpg. I replaced the plugs, cap, rotor, wires, air filter, fuel filter and O2 sensor. I tried fuel injector cleaner and all the other additives you can think of to no avail. This improved things a bit, got me up to 18-20, which puts me up to about 220 miles to the tank. I used to get well over 300/tank. The compression is good all across, and there are only mild oil leaks. It has 130K. I haven't checked the timing yet...need to scrounge up a timing light. Any other suggestions?

I have a 94 4 runner with 31' mudders and a 22re. if a baby it, I can usually get approx 400 K to a tank of fuel. I have 235K on my engine. What I have been having problems with tho is Spark plug wires. apparently in 94 they went to a smaller plug wire and no one makes any after market highier performance wires. Has anyone else had this trouble? is there any solutions?
