T22 Map Light Assembly Area Rattle

Here is the problem.

Map light assembly installed: clicking sound on rough surfaces. Extremely annoying.
Map light assembly removed: no sound.

The light assembly connects by two screws to plastic pieces on the roof which seemed
to be a bit loose. Added some tape to prevent them from moving. No help. :(

The problem can be reproduced when the car is stationary by pressing the spots marked
with yellow in the picture (which just for illustration as it is from the pre-facelift model
plus I have no sunroof).

Either my repair was no good or it is something else. Tips anyone?

I checked parts base which shows your roof lining - the version without sunroof.

It could be due to age or the fixings may have worn.

Try to add dense foam in the areas you indicated, to reduce the rattle.

Thanks for the link.

Now I'm suspecting wiring harness clip of the wire going to the map light. The problem is temperature related so I have enjoyed peace

and quet too soon.
