Dashboard Storage Space Lid Does Not 'spring' Open.

Hi,

Avensis TX3 Jan 2007 (facelift model), manual gear box, hatchback. The lid on the top center dashboard storage space no longer 'springs' open. The lefthand (nearside) hinge/pivot appears to have cracked. What is involved in replacing the hinge/pivot or the complete lid? Any idea on the cost of a lid? A diagram of the lid/storage space would be appreciated.

Indeed avensisd4d786, I do mean that. I'm hoping I can just get the lid, any ideas anybody if replacing just the lid is a DIY job, assuming I can get a lid.
