I've got a problem with my phones bluetooth system. It connects toy iPhone fine, phone book is available etx. I can make calls out no problem and it's clear but when someone calls me it doesn't actually ring out loud. I can press answer on the screen but I can't hear anything it's as if the call goes back to phone. I've looked and my phone and if says it's connected to Toyota.

Any ideas

You will need to press answer on either the touchscreen of the Toyota Touch unit or the answer button on the steering wheel to answer the call through the cars Speakers.

If you touch answer on the phone , it will route the call to the phone.

I'm answering it on the Toyota screen. My phone is always way hidden in my bag.

I'm running iOS 7.1.1 up to date and it's an iPhone 4. The volume is fine as when I make a call using it it's perfect. It's jut receiving calls.

Last week it worked fine and rang out loud when there was a call. Now if some one calls me it's silent but says there's a call coming through.

Might be worth resetting the Networks part of the phone , however this will remove all the access point settings that you have saved to the phone.

Have you unpaired the device from the Touch system by going to the settings and removing it completely from the system and do the same on the phone. And then pair the device up again.

Yes I've disconnected it and re- paired it. It still does the same. I'm baffled by this.

I think it's a phone problem

I'm not quite sure how to check that.

If it is just the volume of the incoming call dial tone, go to settings on the touch and go and increase the volume ,

It's not just the volume of the ringer it's when it's connected too. You can't hear anyone.

But when I call out the volume is nice and high.

I've tried looking for settings on the screen but can't find it. I can get mobile phone up on the sat nav and manage devices but there is no settings

Have you tried turning the volume up on an incoming call? when someone calls use the steering wheel volume controls and turn up the voluime

Yes I've just been out but when it's calling only the volume of the music changes.

When the house phone rang my mobile, the mobile rang for at least 4 seconds before saying on the screen there was a call. I've tried auto answer too, this didn't work

I've just deleted the device to start again

Just to update. I have deleted phone from car device and deleted car from phone bluetooth. Powered down my phone and re added both with the pin

The problem still happens.

External calls work perfectly.

In coming calls do not interrupt music and when you press answer it's so so quiet you can't hear.

I just can't see what's happened as it worked last week

Hi Laura, you say that you can not find settings for the volume, to find these on you your touch and go, try the following,

1,Press Set Up on touch and go,

2,Touch General on screen,

3,Scroll down to next page using on screen arrows,

4 You should now see Phone Volume settings on one line and Ring Tone Settings on another line.

My touch and Go handbook shows the function buttons the opposite way round to my unit ,also the handbook tells me that to adjust the volume settings of the Phone to press Setup and then Telephone,This shows me a different menu to that shown in the handbook,I can only assume the software has changed.

Hi thanks. I'm confused on my model now as when the screen comes on it's instant Satnav. I can change it to control panel settings but it only has audio options for music and source. The only settings on the Satnav for the mobile are which phone is active and auto answer.

I have a yaris t-spirit 2011 with a TNS410 audio system if that's any help

Jut looking through my manuals and it's not listed in there at all

Right you have tomtom navigation to adjust call volume, whilst in a call touch the lower left of the touch screen, a volume slider should appear adjust as required, see here for a full manual: http://download.tomtom.com/open/manuals/eclipse2/eclipse2/refman/TomTom-en-GB.pdf

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi. Just to say I'm back off holiday, tried what you said and nothing happens. The volume doesn't make the call interrupt music or ring out. Sliding the volume just turned my Satnav up full maximum volume.

So when I ring it, my mobile rings a good 5 seconds before the system picks up there is a call. Then it says on the screen pick up or don't answer but it's not ringing out loud as it used to a couple of weeks ago. It used to interrupt music to do a phone ring. If I press answer there is hardly any sound Andy phone says it's connected to tomtom

I've been having the same problem. I bought my Yaris last December (63 plate) and I set up my Samsung Galaxy S3. For a while it would connect to the bluetooth system fine and I could make and receive calls with no problem. Shortly after I started receiving calls but when I answered I couldn't hear the caller at all and they couldn't hear me. I had to manually pair my phone each time I used my bluetooth. Sometimes even though it paired, it I'd ensured the phone and phonebook was linked, but it wouldn't work.

I spoke to someone at my local Toyota branch and they advised there is a known pairing problem with Android phones and the Touch & Go system. The guy I spoke to unpaired my phone, tried his iPhone and it worked fine. He then unpaired his and linked mine back up and it worked fine. Typical. Although I have had problems since. No idea what it is. I'm tempted to change my phone in the hope I won't experience this problem again.

Ironically, my Dad has a 63 plate Auris Tourer with the Touch & Go system and also has a Samsung Galaxy S3 and his pairs effortlessly every time he gets in the car.

Hi, Welcome to the club... Enjoy :driving:

What limit do you have on your visibility timeout settings in the bluetooth options?

Thanks :) I think it's 3 minutes. I can check tomorrow. Do you think this is the problem?

Hi. How do I find out what my visibility settings are? I've looked on my phone and cannot see it.

My problem is the bluetooth works fine for outgoing calls no matter when I make the call but incoming just won't work

In your bluetooth settings it will allow you to alter the amount of time that it remains on, normally from one minute to constant.

You just adjust so the car has time to lock on to the signal from your phone.

With my Samsung it also allows me to set up profiles for call audio and media audio, again in settings once paired with the car.

My bluetooth is either on or off. No timing section on my iPhone. It's on now and I can ring out fine but if I call myself from work phone it just doesn't connect. Well it half connects. Says there's a call but doesn't do anything.
