My First Toyota

I actually look forward to my next drive in my Auris Hybrid!....One of my favourite things about this car is what I feel when I press the PWR mode button! - It's really a wolf in sheeps clothing - this makes it never a boring drive, although I do like aiming for fuel economy. I truly have fell in love with driving all over again. My only regret is not getting one with a panoramic roof....

Welcome Matt - glad you're enjoying motoring again. The Manta was one of my favourite cars as a young teenager, especially the GTE :)

Paul, I had a metallic blue Manta 1.6 with a stripe from bonnet to boot which I later discovered had been stuck on to disguise what looked like a knife had been pushed all the way through the bonnet! I had been under there checking the oil level and noticed a tear which never rusted because of the tarry under seal which I think was on all Opels at that time.

I kept the car around 5yrs and sold to a work colleague who allowed his son to drive it....After a couple of years, I was going to buy it back,but when I went to see the car it had dents or scratches on almost every panel.....sad end!

However, I have fond memories of the time I had it for- it was my second car after I passed my test.
