Hi everyone.. I am new to this forum and would like to ask some advice, perhaps someone has found themselves in a similar situation.

recently my engine blew and I reconditioned by taking it to a garage I found on eBay who are meant on I be specialists in reconditioning engines.

Whilst my previa 2.0 d4d was in the garage I got a call to come down to the garage as they wanted to show me the turbo had packed in and also seized.

I spent that day looking for one and located a company not too far from the garage and managed to pick up a recon one for £210 which in comparison to others was very cheap. Other recon turbos where going for at least 350 to 450.

It worried me that it was so cheap but eventually I ended up going with it and the mechanics installed it.

Once the car was fixed I immediately noticed the car lacked power. I took it back to the mechanics who checked over the car and blamed it on the turbo. The supplier of the turbo said it must be the mechanic. Anyway...I took the car to another mechanic and they also stated it was the turbo. I am not too sure if the supplier of the turbo will exchange it so I have prepared for the worse. I have located another one and am ready to buy and fit a second hand used one. My query is that is it better to go for a second hand used turbo or a recon cheap turbo. Does anyone have any experience. I was told second hand ones can be better but there is a risk but also there is a risk with recon ones as the internal components can be cheap. Furthermore the one I bought was cheap in price and that is worrying me. The one I have located apparently comes from a car that has only done 70k on higher clock...sorry about the essay lol...

Any advice is really appreciated.
