Seatbelt Replacement 02 2.0Vvti Gx

Hi,

My wife has just bought an 02 2.0 VVTI GX.

Great car but have an issue with the seatbelt. There is some damage to the drivers seatbelt. We didn't notice when we test drove the car and it wasn't pointed out by the dealer. It came with a years MOT and the seatbelt damage was listed as an advisory.

We are going to go back to the dealer but think it is hit and miss as to whether or not he will sort this or not. I think he should but we have asked another MOT tester and he wasn't sure whether it was a fail or not.

Anyway that is something we need to take up with the dealer.

What I really want to know is if I end up needing to replace the seatbelt myself, is it a simple job. I would guess it is fairly straightforward with just a couple of anchor points but in my experience everything turns out to be more complicated.

Is there any kind of pre-tensioner to worry about?

Anyone done this?

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Jon

Straightforward - just remove the cover panel and unbolt the reel + top and bottom mount. Try the belt to ensure no twists before fully bolting up / replacing the panel.
