Limp Mode And Fuel Pressure Regulator Fault :/

Hey guys, looking for a bit of advice here. Sorry if it's long winded but I guess it's easier just to get it all out! I have an 02 Hiace d4d, 2KD FTV. Basically, the engine light came on last week, and the van has gone into limp/no power mode when you open the throttle past about a quarter. Had it plugged in at a mates garage, and it is showing fuel pressure regulator fault. Now, without taking it to a specialist, he can't tell me exaclty what the fault is without knowing the varios specifications/resistances. What he did think is that If the sensor, which is on the cab side of the engine, is knackered, I need a new fuel rail, as toyota don't sell the sensor seperately. It looks like a pita to get too, but apparantly dropping the gearbox out of the way just enough is easily done by 2 bolts in half an hour? Does all this sound right, a new fuel rail from toyota is around £450 plus the vat, and potentially may not fix the problem! Any help appreciated.

Dave
