Its a TRD thermostat thingy stating:

"TRD Low Temperature Sports Thermostat, opening temperature is reduced to 71 degrees C".

Whats this all about then???

this is a thermostat, i guess for the water pump, to release flow to the rad at a lower temp. I just mailed fensport and said if thats what its is please send me one, once my cars done i don't want any risks, such as sticky thermostats over heating it.

a cool engine is a happy one std stat opens at about 81-82deg c so in effect by fitting the trd one you are lowering the operating temp of the engine therefore protecting against over heating. better protection can be had by replacing the rad cap with a trd one as this raises the boiling temp of the coolant by raising the relase pressure if things get especialy hot

So would you advise me to get BOTH the trd rad cap and the trd thermostat???

yeah buy em, only thing wih he high pressure cap is if theres a weakness in the cooling system it may put more pressure on it making it leak.
