Limited Edition Paint Colours

This is my car - a 1993 Zircon Blue GTi-16 UK spec.

I know this car was called light mica blue abroad but thats all i know.

In the UK i belive it was released for only 2 years from cars first registered as J reg to L reg. I also know that it was 1 of 3 special pearlescent colours:

Zircon Blue

Aqua Marine

Steelmist Grey.

Can anyone give me any more details of these paints - why they were used, were they a limited run, did they cost extra etc.

Im trying to get some info together for my website.

didn't realise that was a limited edition paint, nice one.

I did know that in Australia you can get a model of corolla called an 'SX' which is like our GTi regarding spec but the paint is only available in RED or WHITE and is a 'special mix' from STANDOX which are located at...... ESSEX hence the 'SX' name. :)

I think mine is Steelmist Grey... it's a kind of grey, blue silver shimmer...

v.nice in the summer sun.

Recently saw a picture of a 2 due to be imported in a bronzey colour, similar to the orangey/bronze on the Volvo T5's amazing colour and very rare....

Pretty sure it was a limited run in Japan...
