Yaris 1Ltr Vvt-I P1349 Fault Code

hi just new on here and my 1st post so here goes......my daughter has a yaris made in 2000 that keeps spitting up error code P1349 about 3 months ago I replaced the oil control valve and the oil pressure switch and eml light went off for about a month or so. so I thought its got to be timing chain so replaced that last week new chain guide rails tensioner and 2 days later on pops the light again with error code yip P1349 again got my head done is now any help and advice would be very much appreciated but on the plus side car has a lot more power since chain has been done oh I also checked the little filter next to the oil control valve and that was nice and clean could the problem be the actual vvt-I unit on the camshaft and can they be stripped down and cleaned out in any way.

P1349 Toyota - Variable Valve Timing System Malfunction Bank 1

Possible causes

- Dirty or low engine oil

- Valve timing

- Oil control valve

- Variable Valve Timing controller assembly

- Engine Control Module (ECM)

hi raistlin thanx for reply the only thing I have not done is vvt-I can this be stripped down and cleaned in any way and is there any way of resetting ecm and where is the ecm located plz

Testing the VVT-i unit is beyond the scope of the DIY mechanic.

To reset your ECM remove the negative Battery lead for and hour and your ECM will reset.
