Hi there,

I've recently bought a 2002 Rav4 4.2 2.0 D4D GX spec. Been reading the forum and have got lots of useful info. I've done the filters and oil change this weekend, I think the fuel filter was the original as it was so jammed on and black inside. Fuel consumption has improved considerably since.

It's having a timing belt/water pump replacement next week, last done in 2004! 75k miles ago so well due. It does have an intermittent apparently fuel starvation problem, in that it hesitates on acceleration and has gone into limp mode or similar on a few occasions. Stopping and restarting g the engine seems to clear it. My code reader (cheapie) won't link to it so the garage will check it next week. I did get one of those Customer Protect warranties with it, so hopefully that will cover that element of the works.

Today the exhaust split at the joint with the back box, I'm just looking at where to source the middle pipe from at a reasonable price. Any ideas welcome.

I live in Farnborough Hants.

Cheers,

Loobs

Thanks. I'm not new to Toyota ownership. I've had a 1994 3.0 Hilux Surf for a few years now.
