Avensis Diesel Service

Hi all,

Obviously yearly service is always a must, but what should be changed in diesel car ?

- breaks fluid ,

- oil filter / diesel filter ,

- engine oil

What else ? to pay special attention to ?

And what do you think about all of these additives to clean engine like Forte, Redex ?

Is it safe for the engine? How often do you do it and does it really work?

Which additive ( brand) is the best?

Today at Halfords guy sold me something for £7 , not very well know brand I imagine, but apparently what garages are using .

Also do you really feel the difference when driving a car after such a cleaner?

Visit the following page, scroll down to 'Compare Servicing Info' and click on 'download pdf' - http://www.toyota.co.uk/service-and-maintenance/car-servicing

That will give you an idea of what needs to be done - intermediate services at 1 year intervals, full services at two yearly intervals. Brake fluid every two years. and fuel filter every 40,000 miles.

Have you been sold an engine flush?

Yes, I bought one of the engine flushes and I was wondering if it is a good , safe thing to use or not really? In the past I was sold Forte, but just a bit scared to use the £7 one.

It is Comma Diesel Magic .

Can it potentially be harmful to your engine? Or have any cross reaction with fuel? I use Shell diesel.
