Opinions On Using Shell Helix In T180 ?

Just seen some Shell helix hx7 af 5w30 blue bottle for sale @19.98 for 5 litres at my local motor factors.

Tempted to buy it if it's any good for my car, what u guys think ?

The engine oil topic pinned to the Avensis club recommends API SL or SM. Shell Helix HX7 AF is API SJ - so doesn't offer the best in terms of engine protection.

The oil you list is missing the C2 low ash specification required for your DPNR fitted T180, if you wish to use Shell this will suit: http://www.shell.co.uk/gbr/products-services/on-the-road/consumer-lubricants-tpkg/cars/find-right-car-oils/helix-fully-synthetic/ultra-pro-ap-l-5w30.html

Thanks for the info, I'm not really looking for Shell brand oil it's just this has been reduced.

While on this subject can anyone tell me what else is good ?

Don't get hung up on what brands are good / bad / better, stick to proprietary brands of the correct grade, 5w 30 C2 low ash (or better)
